Few days ago, DJ MOD sent his concerns and wishes for a speedy recovery for the former president. Touched and greatful, Ms. Kris Aquino asked him to remake this song "Yellow Ribbon" before TITA CORY passed away.

Calling upon the talents of Kix of Saia to sing the song, D-Coy and J.O.L.O. to drop a few bars and Pikaso to co-produce the track.

With a gut feeling friday night (July 31, 2009) DJ MOD felt there was a need of urgency to get the song recorded and finished. DCOY and JOLO got into the recording both at PIKASO's studio, that very same night and got the vocals to DJ MOD. Once the song was finished,in the early hours of Saturday Morning, DJ MOD got word our Nation's greatest president had passed.

Please keep TITA CORY in your prayers and enjoy the song.

Highlights of the album are the songs: “Di Uubra” (feat. Tuglaks and MC-Nemz) which is one of the tracks that stands up in the entire album, this is one of my favorites in this album, “Sa Inyo” is Penper's version of Eminem's Mockingbird song, “Alay Kay Inay” (Mobbdawgs feat. Mikeman) is like Mobbdawgs tribute to their mothers with a collaboration from Mikeman, hearing this song makes me remember a song from Final Fantasy and also the chorus is reminding me of a gospel song; mixed together with beats and fitting it with rap lyrics… the result… is a song you can dedicate to your mother. “Wala Na Ngang Iba” (feat. Slim-O) is another song that I like in this album and probably comes in the top number 2 spot next “Di Uubra.”

“Wala Na Bang Pag-Asa?” (feat. Cavite Lyrical) - a soft melodic rap song which you can dedicate to the one you are courting. If you can listen to this song carefully and understand its lyrics, this is a very nice song for courtship... pwedeng pang-harana hehe.

“Sistema Ngayon” (feat. Big-L) - in this song, you will feel the struggle of aspiring rap artists; from their experiences especially in rap contests, this is a reflection of what is happening in the underground hiphop scene. I have to admit that the Philippine Hiphop scene is also being politicized, abused and being taken for granted by many or who would really believe that behind this are the organizers and sometimes the judges themselves? I'm not saying that all organizers or judges are the same but I would agree with what this song is saying. Listen carefully and you'll know that this song is based on facts that every rappers who have joined a rap contest can relate to. Hiphop is struggling and I know you know what I mean. Don't blame me for my opinion, take a look around and maybe in a way, you will agree with me. This track is a very informative and wake up call song of what is happening in the very event that we all loved to see: The Rap Contests!

“Mahiwagang Galaw” - a dance track in this album. “Paalam” comes with a very sad tune. For me, I think that this is a farewell song or should I say a goodbye song which would probably change your mood along with the mood of this song. The last track “Sabayang Bigkas” is a 13-minute All-Star Track which features artists like Mista Blaze, Slick n Sly Kane, Hearty, Negatibo and many more!

For those who asked me of where I got this shirt which I wore at D-Coy & the Beatmathics Concert at the Music Museum last March 28, 2009. I bought this shirt from D-Rodd of D Clothing Line (Mobbdawgs/BNC - Baluarte ng Cavite). I have ordered this shirt a day after the death of Francis M. I have requested him to put one of my blogsites (Rapista | Pinoy rap at its finest! www.rapista.blogspot.com) on the back of the shirt as a pledge to continue supporting the underground hiphop.

Maybe some of you do not know why I'm doing these things. Maybe you won't even understand.. I would like to give thanks to those people who appreciated what I do, for those who believed in me, for those who has helped me and supported me in what I do. This is a very long struggle. I hope we can be united.

This news broke out like a massive wildfire, I received tons of IMs, txt msgs, plurk post about the death of Francis "Kiko" Magalona. At first, I don't believe it.. I can't believe it unless I've seen or read in news. Thanks to one of my plurk friends who gave me this link http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/topstories/topstories/view/20090306-192678/Rapper-Francis-Magalona-passes-away which I have read right away to once and for all confirm the issue. Then when I read it, I still can't believe it or I just don't want to believe it. I have to admit that I'm not really that shock but instead I felt like is this for real? Is this real? He is a poet, patriotic, nationalist, lyricist, mentor, singer, photographer, rapper, innovator, teacher, influence, role model, father, brother and many more that one can describe him. I don't really know him personally. I know him as one of my influence. When I was still young listening to his music, I would memorize his lines and rap it. I still remember those line like "Nasa palad mo, ang kapalaran, kabataan para sa kinabukasan" from his song "Kabataan Para Sa Kinabukasan" which is one of my favorite local rap song. Cold summer nights, Three Stars and A Sun, Kaleidoscope World and so many other songs that is on my list. I still got his album, the 2-disc CD Album of Freeman 1 & 2 and his other albums. His biggest hit for me is the “Mga Kababayan” which is probably his biggest hit and most influential song that he has ever written. I think most of the rappers and aspiring rappers today has idolized and/or being influenced by him. He is probably the greatest lost of the Philippine Hiphop Scene. He has helped so many rappers and people to pursue their dreams. He has inspired and touched so many lives. Until now, I still can’t believe that he died. He never died. He just traveled. He has his place in history. He will never be forgotten. He will forever live in our hearts and minds. He is a King. Long Live the King!

MANILA, Philippines—(UPDATE 2) Rapper-TV host Francis Magalona died of leukemia Friday at the Medical City in Mandaluyong, his co-hosts at the GMA Network’s noontime show “Eat Bulaga” said. He was 44.

Magalona succumbed to severe sepsis as a complication of leukemia and passed away at 12 noon, said Philippine Daily Inquirer sources who were not authorized to talk to media.

Magalona had been undergoing several chemotherapy sessions since he was diagnosed with the disease in August last year but was too weak to fight the infection, sources said.

Magalona is the son of popular 1950s movie tandem Pancho Magalona and Tita Duran.

“I don't want a media circus. I want privacy with my family,” Francis said in a phone interview with the Philippine Daily Inquirer, after reports of his illness broke out.

“What I'd rather talk about is how to we can solicit blood donations to replace the supply that I have consumed in the hospital,” said Magalona, the father of eight children.

Francis' wife, Pia Arroyo-Magalona, said her husband started exhibiting symptoms in March this year. “It was very gradual, hindi siya biglaang lumabas [it didn't manifest right away].”
